Really missing live radio and would love to get back to it asap...I will not give up trying to find that station who wants me to inflict my style of radio upon its listeners..........Cool

Interesting and sadly true. 'Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend,Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault..

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouth wash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

All i ever want to do in my life is be he best that I can in everything that I do, but not at the expense of anyone else Fairness and people are very special in my world which some people like to relate to as Gerrys walter mitty world, over the past few weeks I have had some extreme highs but also had some relly extreme lows and sometimes it feels like I m Pissing in the wind but I have such a passion for radio...that it hurts when you feel you are not on the same road as some other people, whichever way it goes I want to be remembered for being the best radio presenter I could be and also being the best friend I could be, now you may hate me or love me but if I can put a smile on one persons face that means Ive reached phase one of the biggest picture...Love or hate me but I will guarantee you will remember me...I have been extemely lucky in my life and done most things that people only dream about...I found 2 great passions in my life Susan my wife and radio presenting...
Gerald S Priestley...

Firstly Let me say "what a Privilage it is to be able to work in what I think is the most exciting career in the world, where else can you go to work everyday and play music that you love, talk to loads of different people on a one to one basis, all at the same time,no where except in radio, such a powerful communication platform to have at your fingertips with a single word or song you can change somebodys mood. Radio is me, its you ,its everything you see and do....The best way to play with the theatre of the mind. That is why I feel so passionate about my career and the people whose lives I could affect with one foul swoop of the tongue.....The catchphrase "love the life you live, live the life you love" really does sum up my life in one single phrase....once the passion dies I will walk away from it.

Christmas is 5 Weeks away,do you think that there is too much pressure put on families today to keep up with the Joneses?,does it make you cringe when you think "how am i going to buy presents this year"?,this is not good as pressure like this can lead to tragic circumstances. Please dont feel like this, there is always a lifeline of help remember a problem shared is a problem halved.

Another iconic legend left us this last weekend 26th September 2008,Mr Blue eyes Paul Newman sadly passed at the age of 83 he will be truly missed.
